Colchicine: The best cure for gout is a two-step process. In the initial stages of gout, the best treatment is colchicine or an anti-inflammatory medication specific for the reduction of inflammation associated with gout.
The long-term treatment however involves reducing the amount of uric acid in the blood. This either involves taking medication such as allopurinol or uloric.
In addition, as gout is a disease associated with protein metabolism, it is a good idea to reduce the intake of rich foods and foods with high protein content like redmeat.
