Metaplastic cancer: A metaplastic cancer is a poorly differentiated carcinoma that looks like a different type of malignancy which is called a sarcoma. The tumors are treated like a carcinoma and not a sarcoma. The causes are the same as for the cancers that they originated from.

Kidney cancer: When I see this type of cancer, one of the common sources is the kidney. This typically takes an aggressive course. If a biopsy shows this, the patient needs a CT scan of the chest, abdomen and pelvis. Hope this helps.
