What can you expect the first time you try acupuncture?

Problem is this: Varies incredibly, as it depends on a person training. Some acupuncturist diagnose based on your pulse and/or tongue findings. Some acupuncturist diagnose based on palpations. Some even based on how you fill out questionaires! Beyond diagnosis, the treatments techniques are quite variable too. Some only use needles, others needles, heat, magnets, laser, electrical stim !
