Acupuncture: Acupuncture has been proven to give complete relaxation. So you should feel no body tensing. It is safe and worth a try. It would be up to you and practitioner to decide on length of treatment. You may also want to try cognitive based therapy. Good luck.

Acupuncture: I have not used acupuncture to specifically treat social phobia. However, because anxiety plays a big part in social phobia - this aspect of treatment may help with social interactions.
