What is a spiny cell and macula cell in the eye? what do they do?

Clarification : Maybe you’re referring to the name of the cells in the macula, which are centrally predominantly cones. Moving from the center of the macula to more peripheral areas, the cones decrease in population and the rods increase. Not sure what you mean by “spiny” cells. See image of normal retinal anatomy included.
