Cases of whooping cough (pertussis) have increased in the us from ~2500 in the mid 90's to over 40000 per year due to increases in unvaccinated infants ; children.This has resulted in > 30 preventable deaths, primarily in kids.

No promise: Many people choose not to vaccinate their children for a variety of reasons. Do not trust the person who promises you she will be 'ok' if you don't vaccinate. The risk of serious illness, long term medical issues and death from vaccine preventable diseases is much higher than risk of adverse reaction from having the vaccines. You are gambling with your child's life, but it's your choice.
