Protein: Good to get some protein into the system right after the run, as you need to begin rebuilding and resupplying. You can make a shake/smoothie with protein powder and other good ingredients, chocolate milk with protein powder, chicken, ground meat, etc. Be sure to rehydrate as well. Good Luck.

Protein+carbohydrate: The carbohydrates are the body's main fuel source and protein is essential for the growth and repair of muscle tissue. Both are critical for full recovery after running. Hope it helps.
