Stenosis: Stenosis is the narrowing of a blood vessel that alters normal perfusion. Examples of stenosis in the vascular system are renal artery stenosis or carotid artery stenosis. The development of atherosclerotic plaques sometimes occludes so much of a blood vessel that stenosis occurs.
