Experience: When choosing a surgeon, ask around among friends and colleagues, make sure the surgeon is board-certified in plastic surgery (Not just "cosmetic surgery", they must be board-certified by the American Board of plastic surgery, there is a big difference), check on their experience, and consult with the surgeon. If your surgeon has a good reputation with your doctor, that is favorable as well.

Liposuction: Make sure the surgeon is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, look at before and after photos, read reviews, ask friends or family for recommendations.

Liposuction surgeon: The most important item is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a board certified plastic surgeon.
