Dentist: DIY (do it yourself) "remedies" for tooth aches are just patches for proper treatment. You need to have the source treated, not the symptoms. You could also have infection in the tooth or gum tissue or both. See a dentist asap.

OTC Pain Meds...: ... but you should immediately call a dentist for an appointment. The pain will not resolve on it's own.

See your dentist: Regardless, schedule an appointment to see your dentist, because the tooth pain will not go away without treatment. If the dentist can't be reached and it is a true emergency, go to the nearest emergency room or take Tylenol/ Advil (ibuprofen) for pain control.
