NO: A test called an Electroencephalography (EEG), which is the recording of electrical activity along the scalp. EEG measures voltage fluctuations resulting from ionic current flows within the neurons of the brain. An EEG test is most often used to diagnose epilepsy.

Tests 4 Epilepsy: Unfortunately there is no single test to confirm or "rule-out" epilepsy. I have patients who clearly have epilepsy who have normal blood work, normal MRI brain, normal development and intellect, and normal EEGs and this is not rare. Epilepsy is a "clinical" diagnosis meaning that the diagnosis is based on the symptoms and report rather than any specific test.

Prolactin: Epilepsy is usually diagnosed without specific tests but brain imaging (CT/MRI) +/- an EEG is often ordered by your neurologist to help look for causes or decide on the sub-type of epilepsy. Sometimes doctors may request a blood test called serum prolactin which can help differentiate epilepsy from a condition called psychogenic non-epileptic seizures. However this is not commonly needed.
