Sharp pain blw left ear, where meets jaw. hurts if pressed. not caused by mvmt. any ideas what is causing it?

Ear pain : Musculoskeletal pain around the jaw can be painful anywhere around the ear. Sometimes this will radiate up into temple or down into neck. Treatment includes heat to area, soft diet, antiinflammatories, sometimes a muscle relaxant, and maybe a night guard for the teeth.
