Not that invasive: A frenectomy to help close the space is not a real invasive procedure and usually heals quite well. If an oral surgeon is doing the procedure (which I would recommend,) have them explain all about the procedure and how it heals.

No: This is a very common procedure. Takes only a few minutes using local anesthesia. Sore for about 10 days, but very tolerable and won't keep you from doing everyday things. Get it done and you will not have to worry about it later. This is a muscle releasing procedure that eliminates the strong pull on your gums between the teeth. Good Luck.
