Hantavirus: Severe illness is treated supportively & may include use of mechanical ventilation & Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. Immunotherapy (with use of human antibodies) & use of Ribavirin are being looked at as treatments. Although there is no vaccine now, plasmid DNA approaches are being studied.
