Vasodilator meds: Treatment of primary pulmonary htn, meaning disease of the pulmonary artery itself, includes medications to lower the BP of the lung blood vessels. The class of meds include prostanoids, endothelin receptor antagonists and phosphodiesterase inhibitors. All of these medication dilated the blood vessel in the lung and lower the pressure. Other medications can include blood thinners and diuretics.

PH Treatment : Fda approved treatments include oral endothelin receptor antagonists (eras), ambrisentan and bosentan; oral phosphodiesterase inhibitors, tadalafil and sildenafil; and prostanoids (iloprost, epoprostenol, and treprostinil) that can be delivered via inhalation or by intravenous or subcutaneous infusion. Treatment of pulmonary hypertension (ph) should be discussed with your doctor.
