A member asked:

Morning fasting bsl are usually between 6.1 and 6.8. but all day they seem to fall in normal levels. does this mean i am prediabetic?

Serum glucose: Hi. Not exactly, but probably. Diagnostic numbers require SERUM glucose, not finger stick glucose. So I suggest you see your doc and get a fasting serum glucose (drawn from a vein un the arm, in other words). If THAT is in the 6.1to 6.8 range, then yes, you have prediabetes. Being "normal" the rest of the day doesn't undo the correct diagnosis of prediabetes based on your fasting serum glucose.
