Insulin: Unless your pancreas is not working you will always have insulin! Why are you worried about "excessive first phase insulin"? I am not a fan of the term "pre-diabetes" (most of my colleagues love it!). Do you have diabetes? When you measure blood sugar (if you do) is your blood sugar high. If so you have diabetes. Please make a visit to a diabetes educator.
