Not always: Hi. Your friend should make a serious effort to to seen so a urinalysis and culture can be done to determine whether a bladder infection exists or not. Regardless, in the meantime, she should drink copious amounts of water or cranberry juice. Some bladder infections spread to the kidneys, a much more serious infection. Good luck to her!
