Starting peeing blood with chills. went to doctor and had a urine sample and a blood sample. they gave me a round of ciprofloxacin 500mg to cure for bladder infection. could it have spread to kidneys or be more severe then expected?

When lower urinary tract infections are treated quickly & properly there are rarely complications. However serious complications such as kidney infection & damage can occur without proper treatment. Drink a lot of water & consult your treating physician immediately if symptoms recur. I wish you well with your health.

Kidney infection causes fever with the chills a as does acute prostate. See a Urologist and get tested for kidneys and prostate by tests e.g. ultrasound. Drink plenty of water in the meantime.
