Granulation tissue: It is likely to be granulation tissue that forms as part of healing. Leave it alone and it will shrink on its own as healing progresses.

Perfectly normal: This is perfectly normal and harmless. However, if you are experiencing pain that starts to get worse after two days is considered abnormal and you should see your dentist. This could be a sign of dry socket.
