If someone has liver failure do doctors put them on a long waiting list and let them die? only curious?

It is complicated: It is possible to get a liver transplant. Some people are not candidates for transplant due to other severe illnesses. Transplant surgery is long and complicated and your lungs and heart have to be healthy to withstand it. Also the liver donor must be compatible with the tissues of the person receiving it so even if a liver is available it may not be a match for the person needing it.
