Should be ok: the effectiveness will be decreased but it will not be harmful.however if it smells bad, looks bad or tastes bad it probably is and don't use it.

Won't hurt, but...: ...won't help, either. Spring for a new tube. More important, however, see your Dentist to diagnose the cause of your oral pain. Orabase reduces symptoms, not cause.

Not recommended: You should never use expired medicine. As it gets old, the chemicals can break down and produce undesired effects or the medication is no longer effective.

Not really: The expiration date is on there for a reason and it possibly has lost its potency. Hard to say, but better to use when it is active.
