Well,....: I do not disagree that "smooching" is nice, but the same reason you would not want to shake hands with someone who just went to the bathroom and did not wash, or someone who just sneezed into their hand etc. is the same genuine principle why you should not "smooch" someone that had an active contagious infection. Let the person heal, then Smooch away.
