A member asked:

Can a dog transfer hiv virus to a child through a bite?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No a dog cannot: Dogs cannot get and carry the HIV virus in them. So dog bites are not likely source for transmission of hiv. However dog bites can sometimes get infected easily and therefore most children are started on antibiotics to prevent them from getting bacterial infections.
