Hives: This is most likely an allergic reaction. She needs to be seen. Please call her doctor.

For how long?: How old is she? Do they itch? are they raised? Are they red? has she take a new medicine, food, soap or clothes? There are many more items to ask in the history to try and get an answer. But some people get a rash or hives just from chemical changes from their own body. check out idiopathic urticaria. Again, one look is worth 1000 words, and a doctor should be able to give you an answer.

Please give: a better description to help with diagnosis. If this is getting worse (and it seems it is), I would go see a doctor for a full history and physical exam for diagnosis and treatment. Best of luck!
