Depends: Cafe-au-lait spots are not contagious but may be inherited. Please discuss with your doctor as such marks may be a marker of systemic inherited abnormality.

Depends: If you have neurofibromatosis (you would know) you can pass these spots as part of its genetic package. If not, they are a rather common birthmark that shows up randomly in the population.
