Possible sinus: infection. Use nasal saline spray to clean out your nostrils and consult your physician for evaluation of a possible infection.

Sinusitis...: It sounds like you may having sinusitis which most of the time can be caused by a virus. Since it has been just one day I would suggest to drink plenty of fluids and if where you are at is easy to get take decongestants. However, if feeling worse with pain and the bad smell continues then you will need antibiotic treatment and for that you need to see your doctor.

Allergy or infection: You could be suffering from allergies or even a sinus infection, especially since the mucus if foul smelling. If it persists you will have to see a doctor who may decide whether you need antibiotics.

Sinus infection: The most common cause of this at your age would be an infection of the sinus, with stagnation and the accumulation of pus and debris with a significant odor. This could also occur with a foreign object stuck in the nose or certain growths in the nose. Start with your family doctor, or better an ENT specialist to get to the cause and treatment for this.
