A 74-year-old male asked about a 90-year-old male:
Does a very low plt count damage the ability to resist infection? if so, would the immune system return to normal as soon as the plt returns to normal?

No: but you are at risk for hemorrhagic problems with a very low PLT count. It has little to do with your immune system however.
