Check with MD: The maximum dose of metformin is 2550 mg and max dose glimepiride is 8 mg. do not change the dose without checking with your MD. The decision about medications and dose depends on a number of factors including prior medical history, lab results allergies etc. Remember also that diet and exercise are a key factor in the response to medications,
