Heel Pain: What you describe could be related to infection or inflammation. If it is infection, it must be treated immediately with proper antibiotics. Was there an injury? Maybe a puncture wound? If it is caused by inflammation, this would be treated with anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen or others. Types of inflammation include gout, bursitis, arthritis, fasciitis and others.
