is melatonin considered a sleep aid in the sense of it being addicting and like a sleeping pill? thanks dr.

Dr. Eric Weisman

Melanotonin: does not have the addiction potential of other agents. Discontinuation of its use does not produce the withdrawal symptoms one might experience with some of the other agents.
