A member asked:

Is smoking hookah once a week harmful for diabetics?

Yes: Smoking anything is NOT good for your health. Depending on what you are smoking in the hookah, tobacco even once weekly causes damage over time, including bronchitis, emphysema, sinus problems, increased colds and other cardiovascular issues. Diabetes brings great cardiovascular risks with it, and increasing those by tobacco smoking is not in your best interest, even only once a week.

Smoking Hookah: at any frequency whether diabetic or not is harmful. Per the Mayo Clinic: Per Dr. T Hays- " Hookah smoke contains high levels of toxic compounds, including tar, carbon monoxide, heavy metals & cancer-causing chemicals (carcinogens). In fact, hookah smokers are exposed to more carbon monoxide & smoke than are cigarette smokers." REF: https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/quit-smoking/exper
