No spcific test: There is no specific test for oa. Diagnosis is based on history (possible previous trauma, gradual onset, pain ; swelling after exertion, etc.), physical exam (joint effusion, joint line tenderness, pain full range of motion with crepitation) and x-ray findings (joint space narrowing, osteophytes, etc.) it is also necessary to rule out other causes of joint pain, such as infection and inflammation.
