Pediatrician dosed?: Pediatricians have excellent knowledge when it comes to dosing the most common drugs or classes of drugs to kids so the mother needs to check with her daughter's pediatrician first then, potentially the pharmacist as they too will know.

Valium dose: This is max dose. Call pediatrician and discuss. Call dentist and say you do not want to give max dose, discuss giving only 1/4-1/3 dose initially and seeing her response, discuss how it is reversed if severe effects. The labeling for kids is confusing.it does say max 0.2 mg /kg but then says for 13-18 yo start with 5 mg for conscious sedation (2-10 range). So discuss lower (1/4-1/3 )dose.
