A member asked:

My 19yr old daughter had a pano last month and now her dentist has referred her to an oral surgeon because she saw something she "didn't like". i was trying to research what that could mean without panicking. my daughter has no pain/symptoms at all.

If possible, try...: If your daughter will give her permission, ask the dentist what were his concerns regarding the pano, it can be something as simple as a wisdom tooth erupting at an angle, a density in the bone that can be from the bite or an extra tooth, which I found on my own daughters x-rays. As parents, we are always concerned when we hear statements like that, always feel free to ask questions to doctors.

Unusual pano: What did the dentist see that "she didn't like"? Too vague to determine from this alone.

Wisdom teeth: Most likely your dentist "doesn't like" the position of her wisdom teeth. Don't try to figure it out without a consultation. Get a copy of the pano for your records.
