A member asked:

I have hyperthyroidism. i was prescribed with medicine for heart and to reduce the thyroxin production. what should i do to maintain my health?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Take the medicine: Hi. Hyperthyroidism is not good for your health, and should be treated. The beta-blocker for your heart will be able to be stopped once your hyperthyroidism is controlled by the anti-thyroid drug (probably methimazole or carbimazole). Your doctor will follow your thyroid function and adjust the anti-thyroid medicine dose to keep it normal. Good luck!
