No and no!: The "-itis" in enteritis means inflammation of the intestines, which can get started in several ways, infection among them. Trapped air hurts when it acutely stretches the intestinal wall but it does not cause inflammation. More likely, air trapping results from the changes inflammation causes. Treatment with an antibiotic assumes an infectious cause.

Enteritis: This can be very painful. It can be caused by a viral, parasitic, or bacterial infection. All of these will cause inflammation which is the cause of the pain. Hope you feel better soon. Make sure you take all of your medication and f/u with your Dr.
