Allergies: Possibly allergies to environmental allergens, or certain foods, chronic low-grade sinus infection less likely. The best simple daily treatment for sinus or nasal problems is to buy and use a neti pot. It is a way to irrigate the sinuses with salt water, and does wonders. It's not as unpleasant as it sounds-give it a try!

Rhinitis...: Turbinate enlargement and usually nasal drainage may occur with allergic and non-allergic inflammatory conditions of the nose (rhinitis). One example of a non-allergic cause is vasomotor rhinitis which involves overactive parasympathetic nerve stimulation (for example, during eating the nose may congest and drain). There are some topical prescription treatments for this.
