Each one to itself: Each one of these problems is treated separately Teh whooshing may not be the carotid. This may be from the pulse in the ear. The carotid needs to be studied with ultrasound. The mitral prolapse is usually benign. You need to see your doctor and get this worked out. Best wishes..
