Sounds like a cold,: which is viral and will resolve without medications. For symptomatic relief, it is no longer recommended to give a child of her age medication for the cold itself. If she has a fever, you can give acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and it's important that she continue to drink a lot of fluids. If the cough is persistent or there is fever or pain or difficulty breathing, please have her checked by her doctor.

Colds toddler: Use a cool mist humidifier at her bedside , nasal saline solution 2-3 times a day , 5 ml of Vicks vapor rub once daily and 5 ml of buckwheat honey once daily . Good luck and I hope this helps.

Nothing: No medication for coughing until age 6. Cool liquids and a cool, moist environment may be helpful. Elevate her head at night. Keep her nasal passages clear with a gentle saline solution. All the best. Have her checked for any concerns.
