Approximately 1 wk: Symptoms of tonsillitis with sore throat and pressure pain in sinus usually indicates a viral infection, especially if the sinus discomfort is in multiple sinus areas (above the eyes and both cheeks). If the sinus pain increases in one sinus area, accompanied by a fever 101F or 38.4 C you likely have a secondary bacterial sinusitis and would need an antibiotic.

See your PCP: Your ears, nose, sinus and throat are connected, so a problem with one can mean a problem for another. The proper diagnosis is the key to successful treatment. See your PCP for evaluation and diagnosis.
