How common is fatal dvt in 24 yr olds?

Not common: DVT risk of fatality and risk of pulmonary embolism increases with age. The risk is higher if there is an underlying medical condition (clotting disorder, cancer, etc). If you have a DVT getting appropriate treatment immediately decreases risk of complications.
