Unsteadiness: Generally inner ear dizziness or "vertigo" results in a motion or spinning sensation. Unsteadiness, light headedness, floating sensation, etc may be due to multiple conditions such as: neurologic, cardiac, thyroid, vision, medication, autoimmune, diabetes, blood pressure, etc... Certainly persistent symptoms deserve a further evaluation which may include MRI, serum studies, EKG. See PCP or Neuro
