My doctor said it is important i take gralise with food. i was wondering if i don't take with food, what could happen? is the medication not effective

Nothing bad happens: .....if you don't take Gralise with food but it is not absorbed quite as effectively from the small bowel where it is supposed to get into your system. As a result you may lose some of the medication from your body and that will be a "lesser dose" you might say than if you'd take it with food. In fact, if your food has a higher amount of fat in it the medicine will get in Lickity Split!

Taking Gralise with food helps your body get as much of the medication as possible from the tablet. If you don’t take Gralise with food you might not get the full amount of medication in each tablet, which may make it less effective.
