A member asked:

I'm having gallbladder removed and going for a pre-operation assessment tomorrow. what happens at these assessments? anything i should or shouldn't do

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Preop exam: A preop restive examination is done to assess the risk of surgery. The usual examination involves general physical examination, ECG, blood work, chest X-ray and urinalysis. If the ECG shows any abnormalities a full caricature evaluation may be requested. If blood work, urine test or chest X-ray show any abnormalities, these may need to be corrected prior to surgery. There is no preparation.
