A member asked:

I'm a breastfeeding mom. i am going to have my gallbladder removed. i'm wondering how soon can i breastfeed after the surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Very soon: You should check with the anesthesiologist how long the anesthetic drugs should take to clear out of your body but you should probably be able to breastfeed within a few days, and if the anesthesiologist is concerned about drug levels for those few days, you can "pump and dump" so your milk supply does not decrease during that time.
