Not typical of HIV: Easiest way to rule out HIV is to get tested for it, either thru your PCP or a county health department. The ulcer in throat could be a sign of other infection or inflammation which needs to be examined for a proper diagnosis.

HIV: Without seeing this ulcer it is impossible to diagnose, but if you have had potential exposure to HIV would strongly suggest you see a clinic or doctor with experience in this area and be tested aggressively. Best wishes for a negative outcome.
