A member asked:

What is the normal serum hormone tests for menopause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: Hormonal diagnosis of menopause is variable especially in the late perimenopausal range. So normal testing really doesn't rule out menopause in these women. Any FSH level over 20 early in the cycle is very suggestive, but many women would still be cycling irregularly with that value. A test over 30 would be fairly definitive. The problem is that the ovaries don't just quit, they sputter along.
