A member asked:

I do hormonal blood tests just for check, the serum cortisol level only in am i do it is 5.86ug/dl. normal range 6.2_ 19.4 ,so why the cortisol level is slightly below normal range and what are factors that regulate it as anxiety drug taking& others?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, the slightly low reading on a random test is not a cause for concern. Wish you good health!
