Listen to doc: if your doctor recommended you take it on a empty stomach than follow their directions. However if it's causing an issue let them know. They could change your medication.

Yes: The great majority of blood pressure medications can be taken on an empty stomach or with a tiny amount of food. If you have any difficulty with doing this, I'm sure your physician will allow you to have some food before taking your medications, however.

Better'nAnEmptyHeart: If you trust your doctor, do what he says, whenever your stomach is empty. If you take water pills, best to take in the morning so you don't get up through the night to pee. If you've never taken them on an empty stomach be careful at first, you may get a little dizzy for a while. Also, if you must take them through the day, take two hours before or after eating to make sure the stomach is "empty"
